Does MBUS have to be in COM2 for nk_calc to work?

It does not work on my pc. I set up nk_calc to use com1 and when I run nk_calc, it just shows me the main screen and when I press f1, f2, or f3, nothing happens? What seems to be the problem? Thanks. By the way, I'm running it under win98. Thanks!

Encountered that one. What I did was restarted my Win98SE, (Shut down computer and pressed the reset button). Tried again and it works.

Sometimes, I have to check my MBUS cable. Don't use the autoswitching MBUS/FBUS. With my autoswitching, I just disconnected the FBUS wires and leave the MBUS and ground wires connected.

Regards...

I had the same problem, seems like the software does not like autoswitching cables, just take off the FBUS, and all should be fine!!

Cool

Hi!
I have dual fbus/mbus cable that i have produced myself, and nk_calc and other programs works 100% on it.
I know that mass produced fbus/mbus cables don't works so good.

Best regards.

If you have modem instaled or other hardware that uses com ports, it likely you've get in trouble. Just press ctrl key while system is booting and choose "safe mode"...
